PUEBLO WEST — Veterans and former Law Enforcement officers are going out of their way and helping shoppers in Pueblo West due to COVID-19.

With permission from Safeway, the volunteers roam around the parking lot in orange or yellow vests to make sure shoppers are safe when they get back to their vehicles.

"This is where we live and it is to show people that humanity is humanity no matter what is going on in the world," said Toy Glasscock, one of the leader of the volunteers. "There is more good in this world than bad. This is our way of showing people that there is more good (in the world)."

As for other stores in Pueblo, Glasscock says they're happy to help, if asked.
