COLORADO SPRINGS — Fire crews are out burning slash piles that will be "highly visible" in and around Colorado Springs.

The Pikes Peak Ranger District will be burning piles along Crowe Gulch that will be visible to those in the area of Cascade/Green Mountain Falls, Colorado Springs and the Highway 24 corridor from Woodland Park to Colorado Springs.

This is a continuation of burning from the past few weeks where crews have burned 950 of 3000 piles in Crowe Gulch, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

There will also be piles burning at the Monument Fire Center that will be visible from Mount Herman Road, Monument and along the I-25 corridor from Palmer Divide to Colorado Springs.
