COLORADO SPRINGS — Local ice skaters received some special lessons Saturday in Acacia Park.

US Figure Skating's fourth annual "National Get Up Day" was held in the downtown Colorado Springs park.

Skaters attending the vent said it was a great way to learn and the Team USA athletes said their message is important both on and off the ice.

"I learned a lot. It's great to be around such incredible athletes who spent their entire lives working at one thing," said Jack Conley.

"It's a celebration about perseverance, getting up when you've fallen down, and really just not letting anything get you down," Team USA figure skater, Andrew Torgashev said.

The Get Up Campaign started in 2017 to celebrate the strength, resilience, and determination it takes to be a figure skater.
