COLORADO SPRINGS — UCHealth Memorial Hospital North welcomed the first baby of 2021 just four minutes after midnight.

Eric and Kasey Harworth, of Colorado Springs, welcomed their baby girl Arya, weighing 7 pounds 15 ounces, at 12:04 a.m. Arya was originally due on Dec. 30 but arrived just in time to kick off the new year.

The Harworths already had a 7-year-old daughter, making Arya the second daughter for the couple.

"Arya’s birth was extra special for Eric, as he was deployed to the Middle East when his first daughter was born," according to a release from UCHealth Memorial.

The first baby of the year for Memorial Hospital Central was a boy who was born at 2:23 a.m.

Both sets of parents received a basket with a selection of gifts, including a coffee cup, UCHealth travel cup, sparkling cider for Mom and Dad, diapers, wipes, two receiving blankets and a stuffed animal mini blanket for having the first babies of 2021.
