COLORADO SPRINGS — The Festival of Lights Parade got underway around 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening in Colorado Springs.

A large number of Colorado Springs Police were working the parade.

According to CSPD, just before 6:30 p.m. two adult women chose to lie down in the middle of Tejon Street, just south of Colorado Ave. The parade was forced to come to a stop.

CSPD said the women were given a lawful order to move but refused and were subsequently arrested. They had to be carried out of the parade route by officers.

The parade was stopped for about five minutes due to the women's actions, CSPD said.

The women were served and released later in the evening. CSPD said they are facing charges of Obstructing Passage or Assembly and Resistance/Interference with a Public Official.
