FOUNTAIN — The TruckIt Country Fest kicked off Friday afternoon at Pikes Peak International Raceway, with the hope of breathing new life into the track.
The infield was busy Friday afternoon getting ready for concerts, vendors, truck shows, and other family activities.
It's part of PPIR's effort to provide unique entertainment to the area.
"We had a pre-eighty nine Americana show in May. We have an all truck show. We have and all years makes and models show in August, and then our hot rod rock and rumble is our largest event of the year, and that's in September," said sales and marketing director Dana Kahlhamer.
Events on Saturday run from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
