Today is National Voter Registration Day

EL PASO COUNTY — Election season is right around the corner and If you've been holding off on registering to vote or checking to see if your information is updated, today is perfect to get it taken care of it since it is National Voter Registration Day.

The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder's Office will help people register to vote and make sure information is up-to-date between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Citizens Service Center on Garden of the Gods.

“It is my hope that every legal, eligible person who wishes to vote exercises that right during this election cycle,” said Clerk and Recorder Chuck Broerman in a press release. “The first step to participate in our democratic republic is to register to vote. With that in mind, we celebrate National Voter Registration Day as a way to remind people to register to vote and prepare to vote in this year’s election.”

Along with the Citizens Service Center, community members can register to vote at any of the other four Clerk and Recorder's Offices in the county:

  • North Branch Office at Union Town Center on North Union Boulevard
  • Southeast Branch Office on Industrial Place
  • Downtown Branch Office at Centennial Hall on South Cascade Avenue
  • Fort Carson Branch Office on Wetzel Avenue

The county said It's important to register to vote if you want to receive a ballot for the Coordinated Election in the mail next month.
