PUEBLO — Groups are trying to solve a business growth problem in Pueblo County.

The Community Development Task Force was created to make the permit process faster and more efficient.

The plan is to get to the different permitting agencies in Pueblo County together on to one computer system to approve people who have housing or business plans, instead of having those developers travel to different agencies to get approval.

"If we want growth, if we want jobs, if we want economic development, if we want more homes to be built in our community, then we have got to do a better job of facilitating business permitting processes," Pueblo County Commissioner Garrison Ortiz said.

The task force will start meeting in a few weeks and the group hopes to have this computer system running by next summer.
