PUEBLO WEST — Pueblo West announces more funding for a voter-approved pool.
The District has taken in more than $750,000 from TABOR excess funds.
Pueblo West voters approved a measure allowing any excess TABOR funds to go toward a new community pool and aquatics center in 2016.
"I think directly and indirectly this is going to pay for itself over and over again and bring our community together on a lot of different levels," said Matt Smith of Pueblo West. "I believe it is the number one need we have out here aside from fire protection,"
So far around $3 million has been invested into the project.
The Pueblo West Metro District hopes to start construction by late next year. It will be built between Spaulding and Highway 50.
