FREMONT COUNTY — Arkansas Headwaters River Rangers responded to the scene of a vehicle in the Arkansas River on Saturday.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife said the driver of an SUV fell asleep while driving on U.S. Highway 50 along the Arkansas River near Cotopaxi. The vehicle went into the river but luckily landed on its wheels.
River Rangers and a tow truck responded to the scene and the vehicle was pulled from the river.
CPW said the driver of the SUV was uninjured. CPW also noted that the vehicle landed upright and thus no fluids escaped to threaten the fishery.
