State Patrol takes on statewide accident alert status to 'prioritize responses'

COLORADO SPRINGS — In an effort to continue serving the public during the coronavirus crisis, and to better prioritize responses to calls, the Colorado State Patrol is on statewide accident alert.

This means if you are involved in a crash with no injuries, no drugs or alcohol suspected, and everyone has insurance, troopers will not respond. All drivers involved should exchange info and file a report online.

According to the State Department of Revenue's Website, if a police officer was not called to the scene of the accident you may can file an accident report online.

If an accident report is filed online by an individual, the report does not get investigated by a law enforcement agency. The reports are kept for record purposes only.

When exchanging information, provide the other driver with your name, phone number, and insurance information.
