EL PASO COUNTY — Colorado State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Saturday morning in El Paso County.
CSP said the crash happened on Falcon Highway between Curtis Rd and McCandlish Rd just before 7 a.m. Saturday.
An SUV carrying four teenagers, three females and one male, was traveling on Falcon Highway when the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled multiple times. When it came to rest, the SUV became engulfed in flames, CSP said.
All four teens were ejected from the vehicle.
The three females were taken to Memorial Central hospital with serious injuries. The 16-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene.
State Patrol said no one in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Drugs and speed are being investigated as possible contributing factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
