State Patrol investigating crash that left one woman dead

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that left one person dead.

This happened on Simla Highway near Ramah Rd. around midnight on Monday, January 6.

According to state patrol, a woman was driving a 2005 Suzuki Sedan northbound on Simla Highway. She lost control, for an unknown reason, and over-corrected, which then caused the vehicle to rotate clockwise. The vehicle traveled off the east shoulder and overturned. The woman was ejected from the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation. Alcohol and speeding are being investigated as a potential cause of the crash.
