PUEBLO — The Colorado smelter site superfund project in Pueblo is almost done.

As of mid-February, close to 300 yards and nearly 200 homes have been cleaned up.

The smelter site was declared a superfund site by the EPA due to the high levels of arsenic and lead found in the area. Now, the EPA and community leaders are putting a revitalization plan together to attract people and businesses back to the area.

The EPA is still on track to have the clean up done by 2023.
