SOUTHERN COLORADO — Construction on the I-25 gap project could cause delays for drivers this week.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, there will be a 12-hour single lane closure of southbound I-25 at Greenland Road from Thursday to early Friday morning.

Detour are currently in place as crews make a major traffic shirt to construct the west half of the Greenland Road interchange.

Then beginning Sunday night, CDOT will have a series of full closures of southbound I-25 near Larkspur, between Spruce Mountain Road and Upper Lake Gulch Road.

Construction will start at 7 p.m. on Sunday and will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

A detour will also be in place for this closure, as delays of 5 minutes or longer are expected.

Northbound I-25 traffic will also funnel into one lane in this area.

All construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change.
