Victim identified in homicide in eastern Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS — One man died following a shooting in eastern Colorado Springs Tuesday night, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

He has been identified as as 36-year-old Matthew Morrow of Colorado Springs.

The department said the shooting took place in the 1200 block of Potter Drive around 9:20 p.m. where responding officers found Morrow with at least one gunshot wound.

Officers said he was then taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to CSPD, after evidence was collected and interviews, detectives arrested 20-year-old Enrique Joseph Martinez and charged him with 2nd degree murder. Martinez was transported to the El Paso County Jail where he remains in custody.
