Sand Creek High School students assaulted in school parking lot

COLORADO SPRINGS — Wednesday morning around 9:30, two Sand Creek High School students were assaulted in the school's visitor parking lot.

According to District 49, the students were assaulted by three people. One of the suspects was previously enrolled at the school and is known by the students.

The district said that as soon as the assault was reported to school staff, administrators notified the D49 Safety and Security Team as well as law enforcement partners at the Colorado Springs Police Department.

The initial investigation determined this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the safety of the students, staff, or campus, this district said.
