PUEBLO — Sales tax money is on the rebound in Pueblo.
The city saw an almost million dollar increase from May to April and about a $250,000 increase compared to last May.
"The fact that the federal government gave many people $1,200 in extra money and increased unemployment benefits by $600 a week, certainly that adds to the theory that if you put money in the hands of middle-class people, they will spend it and it will circulate the economy," Pueblo Mayo Nick Gradisar said.
Gradisar added that May was a good month but he expects the sales tax numbers to go down later in the year since there will be scale backs of major events like the State Fair.
