COLORADO SPRINGS — Safeway brought Thanksgiving to Catholic Charities Wednesday.
1,350 turkey meals were unloaded at the Marion House thanks to a food drive. The company raised money through "Turkey Bucks" collected for holiday meals at checkout.
An estimated 8,000 people will be served as a result of this effort.
"It's important for us but I think it's really important for those moms, dads, and kids who are going to be able to sit around a table this Thanksgiving," said Andy Barton with Catholic Charities.
Catholic Charities will distribute the meals. Each one should feed four to five people.
