BARR TRAIL — The results are in for this year's Barr Trail Race.

The more than 12.5 mile trek takes runners from the Cog Railway Station up to Barr Camp on America's Mountain and back down.

Many runners say they use this race to train for the Pikes Peak Marathon and Ascent, which is about a month away.

"It's a hard race, especially the first three miles of Barr Trail is so steep. It hurts, it burns," said runner, Allie McLaughlin.

Sunday, Joseph Gray of Colorado Springs took home the overall prize. Ashley Brasovan from Winchester was the first woman to cross the line.
