COLORADO SPRINGS — Unbelievable new video shows a runaway truck blazing through an intersection along Union Blvd., barely missing several other vehicles passing through.
News5 tracked down the owner of the work truck, and he says this wasn't the driver's fault. The brakes failed on the truck and the driver did everthing he could to get it off the road by downshifting and eventually running the truck up on a curb.
"I am very happy to report there were no injuries, our driver is ok," said Tom Miller, president of Legal River Capital. "I've patted him on the back and told him what a wonderful job he did maneuvering through traffic."
The truck involved in the incident has been taken out of commission. Miller says regardless of repairs, he's no longer comfortable having it on the road.
