FOUNTAIN — Residents within a quarter-mile radius of the 500 block of Royalty Pl. have been evacuated, according to the Fountain Police Department.
Authorities say there are reports of a suicidal woman in the apartment who is shooting out of the window.
As of 3:15 PM, the City of Fountain announced that the scene was still active. First responders are working on getting the woman out of the apartment.
At 4:55 PM the City of Fountain announced that the scene was now clear and the woman involved was taken into custody. The woman is being charged with the illegal discharge of a firearm, violation of a protection order, and reckless endangerment.
The City of Fountain says that those who were evacuated from their homes can now return.
