SOUTHERN COLORADO — A concern for some this time of year is getting around on snow covered sidewalks.
Colorado Springs required sidewalks be shoveled within 24 hours of the end of a snow event by the property owners or whoever lives adjacent to the sidewalk.
For one local woman, not being able to get around could mean missing a doctor's appointment. She said her complex is usually helpful but there can be difficulties from time to time.
"The other ones have been more like 'that's not our sidewalk, that's not our responsibility,'" said Carissa McDonald.
City neighborhood services have eight people responsible for cleaning homeless camps and graffitti. Right after a snow storm, the also address where sidewalks are not shoveled.
