PUEBLO — Lake Pueblo is pulling in record visitors, but it is causing problems.
Through May, Colorado Parks & Wildlife says they have seen a 30% increase compared to the same time last year.
The bad news: this has forced the park the close a few times over the past couple of weeks due to littering and illegal parking issues.
CPW says personal responsibility goes a long way to help park workers & making sure people have a good time.
"Pick up your litter, take care of yourself, be good to your neighbors, and have a good time," said Monique Mullis, a CPW Manager. "Limit the alcohol use, make sure you have a designated driver if you insist on drinking and just have fun and be patient."
Lake Pueblo is trying to get emergency funding to hire three temporary park officers.
