PUEBLO — A Pueblo Veterans of Foreign Wars post is asking for help to assist homeless veterans.

The group is collecting items for the Homeless Veterans Fair which is scheduled for later this month.

The VFW is asking for donations of clothes -- especially socks, underwear and warm clothes -- along with food and toiletries.

"Veterans help veterans, can't say it any simpler than that," said Post Commander Fred Gauna, Jr. "I am a 21 year veteran and my passion is taken care of veterans. That's one of the reasons I got involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars."

If you want to help you can donate items to the VFW post off Adams and Berkely, near Central High School, Tuesday through Friday.
