PUEBLO — Pueblo District 70 updated its requirement for children entering kindergarten next school year, according to a press release.

The district said children must be 5 years old before Aug. 1, 2020, for the 2020-2021 school year. Previously, students had to be 5 years old before June 1.

If you still need to register your child for school, you must complete the registration online. You will need the following:

  • Student's original or certified birth certificate
  • Immunization record on physician letterhead
  • Proof of residence
  • Proof of custody (if parents are not living together)

All of the registration process is online on the district's website. If the child has attended preschool in the district and lives within district boundaries, their information will be automatically transferred. If they attended a D70 preschool, but does not live within the district's boundaries, then parents will need to register them online.

D70 schools offering full-day kindergarten are Avondale, North Mesa, South Mesa, Vineland, Beulah, Rye, Cedar Right, Desert Sage, Liberty Point, Prairie Winds, Sierra Vista, Swallows Charter Academy, and Villa Bella Expeditionary.

If you have any registration questions, you may contact the Educational Services Department at (719) 295-6507.
