PUEBLO — A program in Pueblo has seen a sharp rise in clients.

Nutrition on Wheels started in February.

The program estimated that it would have 150 customers at the end of its first year but currently has about 450 after just a few months.

The program coordinator said COVID-19 has played a role in the big increase.

"You know, it is amazing to see the growth and to talk every day to the seniors on the phone. You cant put words to it. I think I cry daily because they are so appreciative and not only are we bringing them food, we are bringing them a ray of hope," Cathy Fergerson said.
