PUEBLO — Pueblo police said a 23-year-old woman who was initially believed to be a victim of a kidnapping is no longer missing and is safe.

Police said 23-year-old Renee Pataska arrived at the Pueblo police station around 9:30 p.m. last night, hours after she was first reported as the victim of a possible kidnapping. Police posted on Facebook that she came to the station to explain what happened.

Police initially said they received a report around 1:30 p.m. Thursday that Pataska's boyfriend, 36-year-old Phil Martinez, forced his way into a house on W. 13th Street around 1:30 p.m. and forced her to leave with him. Police looked in several spots around town and couldn't find either of them, until Pataska arrived at the police station.

Police thanked citizens for their help in spreading the word and assisting in the investigation.
