PUEBLO — News5 learned more information about three related shootings in Pueblo that left one hospitalized and a police chase that ended along I-25 Tuesday morning.

Pueblo Police say the string of incidents began around 7:30 a.m. when police received a call of a carjacking at the 5300 block of Red Cedar Ct. that had just occurred.

According to police, the victim told them that three males arrived in one red and one white vehicle in their driveway, fired a gun, and then took off with their 2016 Black Hyundai hatchback. The victim was not injured in this altercation.

All three suspects at this scene were described as teenagers. One of the suspects was wearing a yellow shirt and black and white bandana, and another suspect was described as wearing a grey hoodie.

Around 8:30 a.m. police were dispatched to another shooting at the 1600 block of East 15th Street. The female victim at the scene told police she was trying to leave when her vehicle was blocked by a black hatchback and suspects in the vehicle shot at her.

The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the altercation. She told police a male wearing a black hoodie left on foot, and two female suspects left the area in the black hatchback.

While police were at the scene with the victim, reports of another shooting came in at 8:39 a.m. at the 1100 block of Fearnow Ave. Officers say that a man was shot multiple times at this scene after a male suspect attempted to take the victim's car keys.

The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries but is in stable condition at this time. The suspects at this scene were described as driving a newer white vehicle and a black vehicle when fleeing the scene.

Other officers near the Fearnow Avenue scene spotted the stolen black hatchback near Northern Avenue and Santa Fe Avenue. Officers initiated a short pursuit but terminated the chase after losing sight of the vehicle due to traffic conditions.

At 8:48 a.m. a traffic accident occurred on Northbound I-25 involving a suspect vehicle. Officers were able to make it to the scene and have taken two teenage male suspects into custody.

The Pueblo Police Department believes that all three incidents that occurred this morning are related in nature. Officers have recovered the stolen black and red vehicles that were reported at the scenes of the carjackings.

Officers are no longer looking for the white suspect vehicle which appears to be a white Hyundai Elantra with Colorado plate ANXK16. Officers found the vehicle Tuesday evening unoccupied, officers say the suspects are still at large.

Danny, a pueblo resident who only wanted to be identified
by his first name, lives near the 1600 block of East 15th street. He says shootings like this have become all too common for the area.

“If it has to stop in this neighborhood, let it be, because it ain't worth it you guys. It ain’t worth it man," said Danny.

He says violence like this has traumatized the community.

“There's kids out here that are scared to come out to play because of the gunshots. There's people from New York here that got kids with disabilities, they don't come out," Danny continued.

He has a message for his hometown, pleading for people
to end gun violence.

“If you’re from Pueblo man, stop doing all the shooting man. Stop doing it man, enough is enough".
