PUEBLO — The Pueblo Police Department is teaming up with Vitalant for a blood drive Thursday.
The department said it's important because it helps people in emergency situations like officer Jonathan Bell, who was shot by a suspect earlier this year.
"When people are involved in serious incidents or accidents or injuries such as a shooting, there is a strong need for blood. There is always a need for blood and if you donate you can help someone in the future," said Sgt. Franklyn Ortega.
Police are asking that you book an appointment for the blood drive with Vitalant.
As for Officer Bell, police say he is in good spirits and recovering.
