Pueblo neighborhood asking city for traffic light

PUEBLO — Residents living in one of Pueblo's neighborhoods say their roads are dangerous and that something needs to be done. They believe a stoplight may just be the answer to the problem. Shirley Allenback says the drivers on Orman and Polk don't always make complete stops or they ignore the stop sign at the intersection completely. She says many times, that results in accidents.

Neighbors feel as though this is a hazard for their neighborhood and so far, they've had to put up fences, some left a tree stump in place and others have put boulders in their yards to protect themselves from errant vehicles.

Shelly Allenback says, " For the safety of the kids, too many cars. We've had vehicles hit in this area and we don't want to lose a child."

News5 spoke with city officials and they say that they will study the area soon and find out if any changes can be made.
