PUEBLO — A man in Pueblo drowned Monday morning after falling out of a small fishing boat in Lake Pueblo, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials.

Officials said people passing by on a pontoon boat pulled the 68-year-old man, identified by the Pueblo County Coroner as Robert Charles Taylor, out of the water on the west end of Lake Pueblo. Then, another boat took Taylor to the South Ramp where a CPW officer and park ranger performed CPR until an ambulance arrived.

Despite life-saving measures, CPW said Taylor was declared dead at the scene.

Officials said this is the fifth drowning at Lake Pueblo this year.
