Pueblo county farms struggling to find seasonal workers

PUEBLO COUNTY — This years crop of fruits and vegetables from Pueblo County faces an uncertain future.

A representative from the Pueblo Chile Growers Association said farmers aren't able to bring in seasonal workers from outside the US. They said this is because they aren't able to get visas for temporary agricultural workers.

"Everybody in Pueblo County uses the H2A program so without that labor force, there will not be any produce from Pueblo County," said farmer, Shane Milberger.

The association said all the farms on the Pueblo County Mesa are hiring full-time workers who can work through November.
