The 79th annual Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo begins today at the Norris-Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs.
The Rodeo starts with four performances of invitational championship rodeo and ends with the Gold Buckle Championship Round on Saturday night. That's when the top eight scores and eight fastest times from the qualifying performances compete for over $200,000 in prize money.
Proceeds from the rodeo benefit our local military service members and their families.
Each night of the Rodeo honors one of the five military installations here in Colorado Springs. Tonight's events kick it off by honoring Fort Carson, so be sure to wear your red, white and blue!
Rounds are Wednesday through Saturday starting at 7 p.m. with a special Saturday matinee around noon.
Doors open at 4 p.m. Tickets are still available here.
