PENROSE — A Penrose llama owner fears his animals are in danger.

Richard Murr said his llamas were attached two weeks ago by a couple of neighborhood dogs. He said the llamas will be okay but added that some action has to be taken and the dogs need to be put down.

"That can not be tolerated in a rural area. It is not just the llamas but they can attack the cattle, they can attack people's horses. Again, it cant be tolerated," Murr said.

A report was filed with the Fremont County Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office said they do not currently have an animal control officer and will have to hire a new one. In the meantime, the office said deputy's will prioritize people over animals.
