COLORADO SPRINGS — A pedestrian using a crosswalk on Nevada Avenue near Las Vegas Street was hit by a pickup truck early Tuesday morning, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
The department said the 20-year-old truck driver was driving east on Las Vegas Street when he turned left onto northbound Nevada Avenue and hit the pedestrian.
CSPD blocked northbound S. Nevada Avenue at the I-25 interchange and closed southbound at Mill Street around 6 a.m. as they responded to the incident.
Police said the pedestrian was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
The department said the crash is still under investigation.
