PARK COUNTY — As more snow heads our way, Colorado Parks and Wildlife is reminding visitors that parts of Eleven Mile State Park's south side are "heavily drifted in" with snow and ice.

CPW said park staff has been plowing through areas that they are able to reach, but there are some that they cannot get to. Vehicles with four-wheel drive and high-clearance vehicles are recommended on the south side since they are less likely to get stuck.

Drivers are asked to not go through areas that have not been cleared because the park staff will not be able to get you out if you get stuck. CPW said drivers will have to call a tow truck if they need one and that tow trucks in the area are busy and may not respond right away.

The tow trucks in the area have also denied services before due to conditions, according to Parks and Wildlife. Here are the areas that are closed:

  • Rocky Ridge: Loops B-E
  • Stoll Mountain: West Loop
  • Rocking Chair: Lower Loop Sites 610-613
  • Witcher's Cove: West Side Sites 807-822
  • All Lazy Boy Access
  • All Rogers Mountain Access
