Palmer High School increases security following social media post

COLORADO SPRINGS — There will be increased security at William J. Palmer High School after a threatening photo was posted on social media Sunday night.

District 11 has said the high school will be open today, but there will be extra security.

The photo posted on social media was of a gun and warned students to not go to school on Monday.

School officials said they will be checking all student ID's as they arrive to school today.

The Colorado Springs Police Department said it is aware of the post and conducting an investigation.
