CANON CITY — Organizers of one of the oldest events in Colorado plan to keep it going in 2020.
The annual Canon City Music and Blossom Festival usually happens during the first weekend of May. It was postponed this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Organizers are now hoping to have the festival in late August or early September.
"I would say the Blossom is the heartbeat of our community. It is the first festival that kicks off the season. You have a hundred years of people's mothers being queens and family members being participants," Vice President of the festival, Greg Dirito said.
Organizers said what a COVID-19-friendly Blossom Festival will look like depends on what the restrictions are later in the summer.
