PUEBLO — The future of Pueblo's Columbus statue is on hold.

Mayor Nick Gradisar said there was progress made in the meeting between opposing sides of the statue debate and a mediator, but no agreements could be reached.

The Mayor also said there will be no future meetings.

"I do think it was worth it. I think it was beneficial. I think even after the session concluded there were some informal conversations going on among the opposing sides, so I think it was worth it and hopefully, those conversations will continue," Gradisar said.

Gradisar said police will continue to have a presence at any future protests to make sure things remain peaceful.
