PUEBLO — We're hearing for the first time from the woman chosen to lead the fire department in Pueblo and she says she wants build off the work of her predecessor.
Barbara Huber was named last week as the new Interim Fire Chief for Pueblo.
"We always want to look at tweaking everything for better," Huber said. "We have those focused response units and we want to tweak those for better responses in the areas that have the higher volume. We have a great opportunity to work with the community and piggyback on some programs that are already in place so we are looking forward to being a bigger part of the community."
Huber would be the first female chief in the city's history and expects to be confirmed by City Council by the end of the month.
