PUEBLO — Kenneth Hefty, a military veteran in Pueblo, is in a patriotic mood this week.

Hefty was part of the Seabees in the Navy, and though he's retired, his patriotism is as strong as ever.

For the second year in a row, the Navy veteran is hanging flags around the Stagecoach Mobile Home Park just in time for the Fourth of July.

"Why am I doing this," Hefty said. "I might be retired but I am still a lifer and I love my flag and I like to see it flying."

Hefty said he spent nearly $5,000 on the flags but also that he just wants to be a good neighbor by hanging the flags for the fourth.
