COLORADO SPRINGS — An increasing number of people are feeling the need for food assistance due to job loss and other impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
That's why Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center and Care and Share have teamed up for drive-by food giveaways since last month.
A Fountain City Council Member has been taking part as well, delivering food to families in need.
"I try to go where I can see the donations and get those for the families around in our community," said Detra Duncan.
Mt. Carmel and Care and Share have giveaways scheduled for every other Friday through the end of July.
Each starts at 11 a.m. at Mt. Carmel.
