COLORADO SPRINGS — Police in Colorado Springs say a motorcyclist died Thursday from injuries suffered in a crash on August 4.

Around 1:15 on August 4 officers were called to a crash on the Martin Luther King Jr. Bypass, where they found a motorcycle had driven off the road. The driver was ejected and suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Officers say the driver, identified as Anthony S. Moore, 41, of Black Forest, tried to exit from Southbound I-25 but lost control and drove off the left side of the road.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment but died on August 15 from his injuries.

Police say excessive speed and alcohol impairment are suspected as factors in the crash. They also say Moore was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

CSPD says Moore is the 27th traffic related fatality in Colorado Springs this year. At this time last year there were 33 traffic fatalities in the city.
