Man in custody following brief police foot chase

COLORADO SPRINGS — A man is in custody following reports of a suspicious vehicle at a JcPenny's in Colorado Springs.

Around 8:50 p.m. Friday January 3, authorities responded to 3650 New Center Point regarding a suspicious vehicle that was parked in the loading bay area.

When officers arrived on scene they found a 1991 Toyota Landcruiser that was occupied by two people, a man and a woman.

Officers discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen and they went to detain the people that were inside the car.

The woman was taken into custody without incident, while the man, who police identified as 21-year-old Bradley Guy, initially complied but then took off running on foot.

After a brief foot pursuit and struggle officers, a taser was deployed and Guy was taken into custody without further incident.

According to police, Guy had a loaded handgun when he was taken into custody.

He was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center. Guy is facing several charges including motor vehicle theft, unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon and resisting.
