FORT CARSON — A lot of loud booms will continue to be heard from Fort Carson in the coming week as the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team and 4th Combat Aviation Brigade conduct live fire training exercises on post.

People living in Fountain and southern Colorado Springs can expect to hear the majority of the training. People living further north of the training ranges can expect to hear sounds similar to loud thunderclaps at a distance.

The training will continue through March 13.

According to a release, the units within the 4th Infantry Division will train into the evenings and overnight with large-caliber munitions, plus air assets.

Fort Carson maintains the training is necessary to keep units prepared for any potential mission they may be called upon to support around the globe.

Noise complaints should be directed to the Fort Carson Public Affairs Office at (719) 526-9849. For more information, contact the Fort Carson Public Affairs Office at (719) 526-7525.
