COLORADO SPRINGS — A local wrestling club is in need of some help after it's expensive mats were stolen.

Peak2Peak Wrestling Director, Jay Eide said a trailer was stolen from a coach's driveway near downtown Colorado Springs on Thursday.

The two mats inside are valued at $14,000, which is a big cost for the club.

Eide said it's more than just a financial hardship though.

"The amount of wrestlers that we have at the events, having those mats available to the tournament helps us run them more efficiently, and without them we're going to struggle a little bit," Eide said.

About 100 youth wrestling clubs in Colorado are part of the Peak2Peak organization.

Eidee said local schools loaned mats for the tournament Saturday.

A police report has been filed but there have been no arrests so far.
