COLORADO SPRINGS — Some kids in District 2 got an early Christmas Tuesday.
Thanks to United Way, more than 350 students at Stratton Meadows Elementary got a toy and a visit from Santa.
The school has the highest number of families who qualify for reduced lunches in the area.
"I think that that actually hits home for a lot of us is that we get a wish list from them, and some of them ask for things as simple as gloves or socks or shoes and so we're going to give them a toy," said Chrissy Williams.
Target stores and Security Service Credit Union helped make the giveaway possible.
