COLORADO SPRINGS — Dentist offices in our area are offering incentives if you give them your Halloween candy.

It's not just to help keep the cavities away, but to send those sweets to our troops overseas.

Prominent Point Dental Group in Colorado Springs is giving away Starbucks gift cards to patients who bring in bags of unopened candy. They said it's to appeal to the adults who buy the candy.

"It's a little ironic that we're giving out Starbucks in that respect, but mostly it's about the troops to be honest," said Dr. Rick Collette, owner and dentist at the office.

The dental group began collecting the candy on Friday.

The extra candy will be taken to Peterson Air Force Base and sent overseas to our troops.
