Labor Day Lift Off returns with a change for 2019

COLORADO SPRINGS — Head to Memorial Park Labor Day weekend for the 43rd annual Labor Day Lift Off.

It is the largest hot air balloon event in Colorado with more than 75 balloon and 60 vendors taking part. Something new for 2019, entertainment on Saturday and Sunday nights with a happy hour before evening glow.

"Families and people can come on out, can get some food, can get some drink, whatever they like at discounted prices," said Scott Appleman, Hot Apple Productions. "We're really using this as an incentive to get people out here earlier."

The festival runs through Monday and is free to attend. Memorial Park opens at 5:30 a.m. each day with lift off around 7 a.m., weather permitting.
